Chicken: Brazilian exports continue to rise

The first 10 months of 2020 showed growth in Brazilian chicken meat exports. According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), 3.498 million tons were shipped during the period. In 2019, from January to October, there were 3.490 million tons.
China remains the main destination for Brazilian chicken meat. In total, 564 thousand tons were exported, a number 24% higher than that registered in the same period last year. Asia and South Korea also stand out with an increase of 7% and Singapore with 32% growth.
Analyzing only October, Saudi Arabia registered the highest growth, with 44.9 thousand tons shipped. The number is 22% higher than that registered in the same period of 2019. Still in the same month, the European Union increased imports by 29% and South Africa 5%.
