Brazil increases the total volume of beef exports by 11%

Overall, between January and October 2019, Brazilian beef exports increased by 11% in volume, or 1.4 million tons. Last year, in this same period, 1.3 million tons were sold abroad.
According to Abrafrigo, besides China, other countries have helped increase the number of Brazilian meat exports. In the comparison from January to October last year, the United Arab Emirates increased imports by 175%. Russia made acquisitions 694% larger, Turkey 509%, Philippines 43% and Uruguay 84%.
Among the 20 largest importers of Brazilian beef, only four decreased their purchases in the first ten months of this year. Hong Kong fell 12.8%, Iran bought 22% less, Saudi Arabia 1.1% and the United Kingdom 17.3%.
Abrafrigo believes that export numbers may grow further in 2020, with the entry of new markets such as Indonesia and some Southwest Asian countries, and the possibility for the United States to open its fresh beef market to Brazil. Today, the United States buys only Brazilian processed meat.
It is estimated that Brazilian beef exports will end 2019 with an increase above the 10% forecast by the sector.
