Brazil increases beef export

Brazilian beef export increased in the first quarter of 2019. According to Brazilian Beef Exporters Association – ABIEC, shipments totalized a volume of 405.668 ton in the quarter, an increase of 2,6% compared to the 395.536 tons of the same period from last year.
This is the best beginning of a year in 12 years. Even with the reduction of shipments in March, with a decrease of 4,3%, the result is positive for the first three months of 2019 because of the total accumulated in January and February.
The main destinations for beef meat were Hong Kong (87k ton), China (74k) and Egypt (37k).
“Brazilian beef quality is improving the markets confidence in our products and this is reflecting in the export numbers. The expectation is to increase even more these numbers in the following months. We, KIT, work for that 2019 can be an excellent year for Brazilian beef export”, explains Frederico Kaefer, KIT International CEO.
