The positive balance surpasses the July 2006 record, when the balance was positive at US$ 5.659 billion. From January to July this year, the balance accumulates a surplus of US$ 42.5 billion. The figure is also the highest in history, surpassing the record US$ 28.2 billion recorded from January to July 2016.
In July, Brazilian exports stood at US$ 18.769 billion, surpassing US$ 12.471 billion in imports. Exports increased 14.9% compared to July 2016. Imports, on the other hand, increased 6.1% compared to July last year and fell 1% compared to June this year.
